Parenting Speaker "is your child being bullied?"
Students report bullying on-line
Some signs that your child may be a victim are:
Doesn’t want to go to school
Pretends to be sick often
Torn clothes
Being moody or bad temperament
Being quiet and withdrawn
School grades are slipping
Insomnia
Anxiety
The worst thing to do is to over-react and storm into the school and demand action. I have spoken at hundreds of schools and had the pleasure of meeting every principal. With no exception, I have never meet a principal that did not care entirely for the safety of every student that walked through their front door. Don’t forget that if you didn’t know your child was being bullied then the school principal or teacher may not have realized it either.
We as parents need to work together to reduce bullying in schools. That includes our good behaviour that we demonstrate to our children at home and the positive communication we have with school teachers and principals to make your child grow up happy and motivated in a safe environment.

Finding out that your child is being
bullied at school can be a stressful and cause anxiety. For a
parent, they may feel: anger, confusion
and guilt. This can lead to finger pointing and other reactions that do not help the child.
Some children are good at hiding
their feelings and the first you may know of the problem is when it’s too late and damage has already been done.
Victims of
bullying may feel any number of feelings, like it is their fault, which keep them quiet.
